Room 18 at Oak Street
School has been reserved for Battle of the Books practices from 3
to 4:30pm on February 17th, March 3rd, 10th, 11th, 17th, 18th,
22nd, 23rd, 26th and 31st.
Up to three teams may register for the room on the same day. Teams may
practice alone or with each other. Each team may register for up to two
days through the BOTB committee. Any
additional team meetings will have to be held off school grounds i.e.
local library, Cafe Lotus, team member's home, etc. To reserve the
room, please email BOTB@oakstreetpto.org
with the date(s) you would like. See below for availabilities.
Important
Rules for using Room 18 for BOTB Practices
-
The
Team Parent must sign in at the Main Office before heading to Room 18.
-
Parents
of the team members should send in dismissal change notes on the day
of the practice to state EITHER that (a) the children should be
dismissed directly to Room 18 where the team parent will meet them; OR
(b) the kids should be dismissed as Henry Street walkers and the team
parent will meet them in the hall and walk them to Room 18.

The
Team Parent should walk the children to the school's
main entrance near the Main Office
at the end of the practice and release them to their parents.

Parents
should form a car pick-up line along the
Henry Street
loop and wait for their child to be sent out by the Team Parent. Parents
should NOT report to Room 18 to pick up their child.

The
Team Parent must inform the parents of team members which dismissal
procedure will be used AND how the pick-up after practice will work.

Please
leave the room in good condition and in the set-up in which you found
it.
